18ct Gold horse race trophy...

Grant Macdonald was commissioned to make the 18ct yellow gold sword set

with diamonds and rubies for the “His Highness the Amir’s Sword Trophy” for

the Pure Arabian Group Horse Race held over two and a half kilometres in the

State of Qatar.

This beautiful handmade sword presented together with a cheque for one

million US Dollars was won by Al Dahma owned by Sheikh Tamim bin Abdullah

bin Al Thani, trained by Alban de Mieulle and ridden by jockey Oliver Peslier.

This exciting race took place as the sun was setting over the new Rayyan race

track just north of Doha.
